# Prayer for the American Church - 2019.11.09 ## Background - For sometime, I have been struggling with figuring out what God wants me to do with the stuff He shows me. - The prayer below is from a larger note [[1573281072_Prophecy_and_Prayer|Prophecy and Prayer]] ## Notes - Prayer for the American Church - 2019.11.09 - Lord, please help the American Church focus more on You! - Please help the Church to focus more on the finished work of the cross! - Lord, please raise up men, women and children who want to see YOU move powerfully like You did for the Israelites when You rescued them from Egypt! - Lord, You told the Israelites You would fight their battles for them.  However, they rejected You and told You that they wanted a king to do that.  Sadly, the Church has done the same thing.  Instead of relying on You, we have bowed down before "influencers" such as thought leaders, faith leaders, worship leaders, authors, pastors and politicians. - Lord, on behalf of the American Church, I repent and ask for forgiveness.  Please be our God again!
