# Worship Music ## Background - I replied to a post thread on X. - The original from @sola_chad: Almost all of the Contemporary Christian Music industry is a stain on Christianity. They’re no different than secular Hollywood. - A reply from @kassidyjae: What is your opinion on Christian music that will get you in this position? - Then @ drakesNdogs replied to me with: Music is a form of worship. David is a good example. ## Notes ### My original reply to @sola_chad I think Satan is behind most of it. He managed to convince us that music = worship. That mindset is so counter Biblical! According to the Bible, worship is a heart position. Jesus said there would be false prophets along the way and especially in the end-times. I believe the purveyors of this so-called worship music are false prophets put here deceive church-goers. After much study on the subject, I felt led to create a sarcastic version of the Bible that I refer to as the "New Worship Leader Version (NWLV)" Here are links to the overview and the NWLV: - [https://tenminas.net/NWLV_Overview](https://t.co/9n1VnAtXRm) - [https://tenminas.net/NWLV](https://t.co/tl107d84Th) --- ### My reply to @drakesNdogs I'm not sure to which examples of David you refer. However, generally, I disagree. With very few exceptions, every occurrence of music in the Bible is associated with praise, not worship. This is not a "quarreling over words" {2 Timothy 2.14}. This is a fundamental principle. The Christian community has been deceived by Satan to subvert the proper worship of our creator! Per the Bible, praise is done with our mouths such as singing the lyrics in a song. There is definitely a place for music in our relationship with God, but generally, it isn't with "worship." In the OT, worship was usually done by physically bowing even to the point of kissing the feet or ground. In the NT, worship is done by "bowing" our heart / attitude / mindset. We are to bow / surrender / humble ourselves before the creator of the universe and Lord Jesus. Worship is not a place or thing or activity. It is an attitude. Setting aside 30 minutes a week in some building (worship center) to sing songs is NOT worship. At best it could be a time of community praise. However, in too many cases, it is a time of deception. We should be "worshiping" God 24/7/365. Everything we think, do, say, believe, etc. should be with a worshipful attitude. {1 Corinthians 10.31} I believe the entire Christian community has been deceived and is dissing the trinity by the usual Sunday morning activities. We need to rethink what community worship looks like. A good starting point could be the 24 elders in Revelation 4 & 5. In both chapters, worship involved falling down before God and the Lamb. Chapter 5 is one of the few occurrences of music and worship in the Bible. However, the 24 elders were face down to the ground, not jumping and dancing. I'm not saying there is anything inherently wrong with singing, dancing, shouting or sounding the ram's horn, etc. before the Lord. Clearly David did it in 2 Samuel 6.14-22. However, it is important to note that all this was done with sacrifice (verses 13, 18-19) and with humility and with humbleness (verse 22).
