# Thoughts on the 10 - Commandments ## Background - See [[10-C_Background|10-Commandment Background Notes]] ## ToDo - ToDo Study - Research Jesus' teachings on each of the 10 Commandments >> See [[10-Commandment_Study]] ## Notes 2024.06.24 - Idols - Command #2 says to not make / worship idols - I think God told Moses to put the tablets in the ark so people would not idolize them and worship them - When we insist the 10-Commandments be displayed on the Capital grounds or in each classroom, I think we are idolizing the 10-Cs - Based on the whole Bible, I don't think born-again Christians are bound by the 10-C. - The 10-C were given to the Jews in the wilderness. I don't see anywhere in the Bible that they apply to anyone but the Jews - Even if a case could be made that all the OT laws apply to everyone, Paul makes it clear we are set free from the law when we accept Jesus as our savior
