# Who's Your Commander ## Is there still Spiritual Warfare? I have heard it said that there is no more spiritual warfare; the battle was fought and won before mankind came into existence. I guess it depends on how you define "spiritual warfare;" from who's point of view. From God's point of view, since He is omnitemporal, everything is over and settled and we know from the Bible who won! However, from mankind's point of view, things are hardly settled. Even though we too know who won, there are countless battles and skirmishes yet to be fought. Not only do we have to endure and persevere through the "end-times", but we have the day-to-day battles to fight against our own sinfulness as well as external forces of evil. Paul makes it clear in Ephesians 6.12 that "our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." In the previous verse, he told us to "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes." Then in verse 13 he tells us to "take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand." In five verses, 10-14, Paul tells us to stand four times in one form or another: - make your stand {10} - stand your ground {13} - to stand {13} - stand firm {14} I firmly believe that from mankind's point of view, we have lots of spiritual warfare remaining. I believe each and every human being is in the battle from the day we are born until we die. We are in the battle whether we choose to acknowledge the truth and obey the Commander of Heaven's army or desert to the enemy. There is no such thing as sitting on the side-line or fence-riding or taking-a-break. We are either standing with the Commander or we kneeling to the dark-side.
