## Takeaways
- Obviously, there are aspects (points of view) of this thirst thing that I don’t understand.
- From Moses’ point of view, the people thirsted after water to the point of a near riot. (**Exodus 17.3**)
- Isaiah’s view of this scene was that they didn’t thirst because God provided water from the rock. (**Isaiah 48.21**)
- Some examples of hungering and thirsting after God:
- I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water (**Psalm 63.1**)
- My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you (**Isaiah 26.9**)
- Jesus is the Righteous One (**Acts 3.14**, **Acts 7.52**, **Acts 22.14**)
- This whole “hunger and thirst for righteousness” thing is all about the pursuit of it (**1 John 2.29**). If I “practice” righteousness, then I am righteous. On the other hand, if I don’t practice righteousness and / or if I practice sin, then I am not born of God. (**1 John 3.7-10**)
- There is a connection between “practicing truth” {**1 John 1.6** }and “practicing righteousness” {1 John 2.29 & 1 John 3.7 & 10}.
