# Revelation 16.15
## TL;DR
- I need to remain "clothed" by Jesus' blood so I won't go naked and have my sin's exposed
## Background
- I was listening to the Bible and heard **Revelation 16.15**
- I assume I have previously written on this verse, but wanted to capture the thoughts that came to me just now
## Notes
### Observations
- First, Jesus said He was coming like a thief
- Next, He described two requirements for a[[Blessing|blessing]] ([[G3107]])
- remain [[awake]] ([[G1127]])
- remain [[Clothing_Characteristics_God|clothed]] ([[G2440]])
- Conclusion
- If unclothed, then [[naked]] ([[G1131]])
- Consequence for failing to remain as required
- [[shame]] ([[G0808]]) exposed ([[G0991]])
### Interpretations
- In light of the overall context, I have the following thoughts about about this verse
- Jesus started in the time domain then shifted to the characteristic domain
- He said he was "coming like a thief" to which I think connects to the command to remain awake
- I think Jesus' use of the thief moniker was to communicate that He will come when we least expect it
- The idea of a thief is rather negative, so I think that is why Jesus mentioned the blessing next
- The next part are the two requirements / commands
- Awake
- The command to remain awake connects back to the statement that Jesus would come when we least expect it.
- The awake part of this verse is beyond the scope of this note
- Clothed
- After the command to remain clothed, Jesus explained why this is necessary, "so that he will not go naked and let his shame be exposed"
- The clothing refers to the blood of Jesus covering my sins
- Shame refers to my sins
- Nakedness refers to being exposed
### Application
- I would rather not have my sin exposed, so I need to remain under Jesus' covering provided by His blood
- I know that I would rather not have my sin exposed, so I want to remain "clothed" with Jesus
- 777
- Lord, please don't let me stray outside your covering
- Please give me your power to persevere to the end
