# Predestination, Election and Freewill
- My view of predestination and freewill as of this morning, 2013.02.09.
- God isn't stuck in the time dimension like we are. He already knows exactly how things will turn out. So, from His point of view (POV), everything is already set or predestined.
- From an even higher point of view, before any thing was created (from our POV), God was in a position to tweak the outcome. He was able to do this without violating our free will by unleashing regulated amounts of evil. This is illustrated in the beginning chapters of Job and one of the kings. (I had one of the king stories in mind, but couldn't remember where it was. When I did a search for "incite" I was reminded that there are many examples of God "inciting" one group against another.) I currently believe that the method God uses to "incite" is by allowing evil to prevail for controlled time and range. Then, man will inevitably choose "not God" in the presence of evil. I believe this is how God shaped the outcome so He was glorified and so it turned out for good for those who are His.
- Since I believe that God is not restricted by time, it allows Him to see all of eternity in an instant and also spread out a millisecond into years. As I pondered this, I initially thought that it would be incredibly boring for God to have everything already set with no variation. Then I was reminded of our fascination with seeing movies over and over. So, although everything is already done and set, God can replay the story like a DVD, stopping, backing up, fast-forwarding, etc as many times as He wants to relive the good and the bad and experience us as many times as He wants. He wrote the story line and determined the ending. It is the ultimate best seller. Not a single subplot was out of place. Everything was exactly as the author intended. In the author's mind, there isn't anyway to improve the story.
