# Oracle of Bud Background - Over the years, various thoughts have come to me. I never know if they are from God or from last night's Indian food. I have written down a few of these these thoughts, but most of the time I fail to do so. This new section of notes is an attempt to make it easy for me to record the "Oracles of Bud" - A while back, I started saying to Denise, "mark" when I wanted to put a stake-in-the-ground about something. This usually occurred when we were watching some mystery show in TV and I would declare who did it. Sadly, most of the time I was RIGHT. I say sadly, because my correctness is more a testimony about the poor quality of TV writers than my ability to predict the future. If there is any doubt about my ability to predict the future, take a look at my trading record. - I started using the word "mark" as a shortened version of "mark-my-words". I have also used "epiphany" and "revelation" in the past to refer to this topic. - Regardless of how I refer to this subject matter, I want to emphasize I am NOT saying "Thus says the Lord", or "This is the Oracle of the Lord"!!! {[[Jeremiah_23|Jeremiah 23.38-40]]} - On the other hand, there is a chance that I did in fact hear from God. So, if the "Oracle of Bud" comes true AND if it is consistent with [[Scripture]] , then I will give full credit and glory to God! However, if either of these two requirements are not met, then I reject the thought that the oracle came from God and I take full responsibility. - BTW, I am using "Bud" instead of my real name, Gary Martin Abbott in these oracles to further emphasize that no one should attempt to use these oracles to predict the future.
