# New Worship Leader Version Overview ## TL;DR - The New Worship Leader Version is available here: [[NWLV|New Worship Leader Version]] ## What is Worship? - I started a study on "Worship" ([[Worship_Study|Worship Bible Study]]) back in 2016. Based on the things I learned from that study, I feel there are several errors in the church that needs to be addressed. - It seems most churches associate a physical location with worship. The location comes by many different names such as: - Worship Center - Sanctuary - Another error has to do with methods. Again, it seem that most churches have adopted the idea that the "worship time" is when the parishioners sings songs. In other words, by implication the Main Stream Religions (MSR) communicate: - There are only a few minutes a week when the church "worships" - The normative worship method is congregational singing - Jesus made it clear in John 4.21-24 - We don't worship the Father on any particular mountain or in Jerusalem - Now we worship the Father in spirit and in truth - References to music occur throughout the Bible. For example, many of the psalms were written to be sung. Furthermore, there are even commands in the NT to include music such as: when speaking to one another (Ephesians 5.19) and when admonishing one another (Colossians 3.16). However, most of these reference are not in the context of "worship." - Certainly it is possible to worship God by singing. However, based on the Bible, there are many other physical locations and methods of worshiping God. I believe that to limit worship, even by implication to a single location or method is wrong, anti-biblical and heresy. - So, on 2024.03.23 an idea came to me to look at the verses that are related to worship and tweak them into what I see as the common heresy. In this "version", these verses were taken out of context and modified as needed to convey the message I feel God is telling me to communicate. - That said, the NWLV is a perfect example of eisegesis! However: - The main issues identified here were discovered in the exegetical study of worship several years ago and by visiting hundreds of churches across the country. - In the current version of the NWLV, there are 216 entries taken from 153 of the 1189 chapters (12.9%) in the Bible. So, the sarcastic / contrarian view of worship presented in the NWLV is consistent across a lot of scripture - Furthermore, I felt God telling me to do this. If anything, I was "sinning" by not obeying sooner to publish this NWLV. - I want to be clear ... - I am NOT against music!! A big chunk of everyday, 7/365 I listen to music; albeit not "worship" music!! - There is a BIG difference between enjoying the talents God has given musicians and worshiping the CREATOR of the universe. Sadly, in too many cases, the "worship team" has been elevated to god status and when GOD searches the hearts and minds of the "worshipers" what He finds will not be rewarded. - Although it IS possible to worship the Creator with and through music, it is not the only way as implied by too many MSRs. - I believe this new version closely aligns with the heresy in the church today. However, I want to make it perfectly clear that this version does NOT accurately represent God's Word. Rather it twists it into a narcissistic and ultimately satanic view of worship which sadly is the view used in today's churches. - The acronym "NWLV" will be used to identify the twisted passages. - For every passage included in the NWLV, I encourage everyone to read and study at least the whole chapter if not the whole book in several good quality translations. Critically think about the truth in God's Word compared to the sarcasm in the NWLV. ## New Worship Leader Version - This is the first release of the NWLV.
