# J-2021.04.21 - God is Infinite and I am NOT - Part 2
- About three weeks ago on [[1617364207_God_is_Infinite_and_I_am_NOT_Part-1|2021.04.02, I wrote a note]] about my struggles with having more questions than answers. After doing a fire and spending time talking with God about it, I concluded that [[God_is_Infinite|He really is infinite and I am NOT]].
- This morning, I had some thoughts while lying in bed before getting up. Two different images came to me and I wanted to record them before I forgot. Later, when we were meeting with [[Name_Key#^nk-57|M & F]] to pray for our kids, I shared the visions with them and they added another thought.
- The first vision, was set in a concert venue. While there, I compared viewing the performers from various distances. for whatever reason, I analyzed each of the locations from which to view the concert.
- Sitting in the nose-bleed section
- Pros
- The tickets were much cheaper
- Can stay seated and don’t have to stand to see the performers because the nose-bleed section is so steep
- Cons
- The challenge of going up and down lots of stairs
- The nose-bleed section is very steep
- Relationships
- It was easy to stay “private”. It wasn't as packed up there as down on the floor
- It was hard to connect with the performers being so far away
- Sitting in the floor section, but not near the front
- Pros
- Lots of energy with the other people enjoying the concert
- Cons
- Tickets were more expensive
- Have to stand the whole concert to see the performers because all the people in front are standing
- Relationships
- An opportunity to connect with the energy of others jumping up and down on the floor
- Closer to the performers. Can make out some facial expressions. (BTW, NO one was wearing a mask in the entire venue!!) However, still can’t relate to any of them
- Standing in the mash-pit
- Pros
- Very invigorating being with all the people enjoying the concert
- Cons
- Tickets were VERY expensive
- Have to stand the whole concert to see the performers because all the people in front are standing
- Relationships
- Shoulder to shoulder with a ton of people enjoying the concert
- Feels like I can almost reach out and touch the performers. Can see all their body language. However, there isn’t any “real” connection with them
- Backstage
- Pros
- Feel very blessed to be able to be so close to the “real” action
- Cons
- Insanely expensive tickets
- Have to watch the concert from the back / side
- Relationships
- Get to spend a few minutes with each performer in a short conversation
- But, to be honest, there still isn’t any real relationship
- The venue for the second vision had to do with a wall. It seemed like the pictures I have seen of the wailing wall in Jerusalem. This vision also took place in several stages.
- One of the stages was far-far away, like it was many miles away. So, it was possible to “see” the wall but also remain focused on my own stuff. A related picture came to mind; kinda like how we relate to stars in the heavens. We see them, but can’t touch them or relate to them and they don’t seem to have any effect on our lives. We can live our lives just fine without visiting the wall or the stars.
- The second stage of the vision was much closer to the wall. I could now see lots of details. It was magnificent and huge. It was still a considerable distance away; perhaps about 20 - 30 meters. Being so close, it was hard not to “relate” to the wall in some sort of fashion. On the other hand, it was also possible to see 360 deg around and to see lots of other things such as people, trees, other buildings, the sky, etc.
- The final stage was extremely close to the wall. My nose was actually touching the wall. All I could see was the wall. All I could smell was the wall. I could feel it with my nose and my hands. Although I could hear other sounds, my senses of touch, sight and smell overpowered the sense of sound. (BTW, in my vision, I have no memory of attempting to taste the wall.)
- As I was pondering all this, the thought that came to mind was how it related to my discussion with God a few weeks ago about His unlimitedness and my NOT. I also related it to the passage in [[Revelation_03|Revelation 3.12]] which reads in the BSB:
- “The one who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will never again leave it. Upon him I will write the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God (the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from My God), and My new name.”
- In particular, for those who overcome, Jesus promised to make them a pillar in the temple of His God and the overcomer will never leave it. I don’t know how big the temple will be in the New Jerusalem, but I am guessing it will be quite large. Since Jesus is making a promise that seems to be like a reward, then I am assuming all this is a good thing. So, just like the concert and wall visions, the closer to the throne of God we get, the closer we will be to creator of the universe. If there is any truth to any of these visions, then I want to be as close as possible. Being a [[Pillar]] at the back would be awesome, but being one next to the throne would be much better! See what David had to say about all this in [[Psalm_084|Psalm 84.10]]:
- “For better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
- As mentioned at the beginning, when I shared this the [[Name_Key#^nk-58|M & F]], they related it to something they had heard about how a typical person grows in their relationship with Jesus.
- [[Sacrifice]] & [[Obey|Obedience]]. One of the first stages of growth has to do with the changes in our own lives and way of thinking. From one point of view, it has to do with all the “sacrifices” we are making for Jesus. However, there is no comparison between the “sacrifices” we are making with the one Jesus made to enable us to have a relationship with God.
- [[Great_Commission|Great Commission]]. After Jesus rose from the dead and before ascending into heaven to sit at the right hand of His Father, He commissioned His disciples and commanded them to make disciples of all nations. {[[Matthew_28|Matthew 28.18-20]]} Whereas the first season had to do with me, this second season of growth has to do with others. It is in this season that obedient Christians get involved in helping others in need and in spreading the gospel to the world. The [[Warrior|warriors]] in this season of life are the tip of the spear advancing God’s kingdom.
- [[Love]]. A third and perhaps final season has to do with love for Jesus. Jesus is quoted in [[John_14|John 14.15]] saying:
- “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
- In terms of external appearances, nothing really changes. Obedient Christians are still getting rid of behaviors that don’t honor God and they are still reaching out to help others. However, during this season, the deep motivation is a true love for our savior. John expressed this concept in [[1_John_02|1 John 2.12-14]]. When we truly [[KHWIFTB - Know Him Who Is From The Beginning|know Him who is from the beginning]] in the most intimate way possible, then all of our motivations change to reflect that love.
