One of the Jesus Culture songs that I took to India ends with what seems like a random phrase, “we are free to [[worship]]”. Although I don't know all the lyrics, it seems out of place. Because I am tuned into the “[[freedom]]” thing, it hits me every time I hear it.
When I would hear that we are free to worship, it usually caused some sort of bristling inside of me. I prayed and thought about it for a while. I started asking myself, for what purpose did Jesus set us free, **Galatians 5.1**. Is it so we can live our lives free from the law, yes. From Satan, yes. From God, NO? We are now free to devote ourselves to God.
What does devotion look like? What does worship look like? We (I) often think that worship is singing on Sunday morning. However, I think a better definition of worship is complete 24/7/365 devotion to God. We should be fully devoted to God and we should be worshiping Him 24/7/365. Therefore, we are now free to worship God!
Tying in the [[NAU]] stuff, one way (not the only way) to honor / worship God is to acknowledge Him as the [[creator]] and appreciate His handiwork. Sadly, our society has built rules that prohibit the honoring of His finest work, the very work that He said was “very” good. God created us in His [[image]] and in His [[likeness]]. Ever since the sin in the garden, we have attempted to hide the beauty of His crowning [[creation]].
[[777]] - Lord, please forgive us. On behalf of all mankind, I ask for forgiveness for our sin of covering your creation. Please forgive your body (bride), the church for joining / leading the world into this bondage and sin. Please move in the hearts of your people, the church, to become salt and light to the rest of the world.
