# Human Skin
## tl;dr
- I still don't know what type of skin was given to Adam and Eve in **Genesis 3.21**
## Notes
- 2025.04.27
- A wild thought came to me this morning while looking at previous journal entries. What if the skin we think of as "human skin" was actually first given to us in **Genesis 3.21** instead of earlier in creation?
- "And the LORD God made garments of skin) for Adam and his wife, and He clothed them."{ Genesis 3.21 (BSB)}.
- The Hebrew word, "owr" ([[H5785]]) translated "skin" by the BSB primarily refers to the skin or hide of humans and animals.
- The general consensus among the MSR is that some sort of animal (probably a sheep) was slaughtered to provide "skin" to cover the nakedness of Adam and Eve.
- However, what if Adam and Eve were originally created with "glorified bodies" ala **1 Corinthians 15.35-49**
- Applicable verses in **Genesis 1-3** are discussed below
- God formed man from the dust of the ground {Genesis 2.7}
- God placed man in the garden in Eden that He had formed {Genesis 2.8}
- God told man that he could "eat" freely from any tree except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil or he would surely die {Genesis 2.16-17}
- In forming Eve, God took one of man's ribs and closed up the area with flesh ([[H1320]]) {Genesis 2.21}
- In light of **Genesis 2.21**, I think my initial wild idea is incorrect and I don't intend to pursue it further.
