# God's Perspective
## Notes
2019.08.24
- We had dinner with [[Name_Key#^nk-38|M]] last night. [[Name_Key#^nk-39|F]] is in [[Name_Key#^nk-40|L]] .
- During our conversation, he shared a few things that I wanted to record.
- At one point he was talking about faith and used Starbucks as an illustration. When ordering a plain cup of coffee at Starbucks, the baristas usually ask if you would like room for cream. [[Name_Key#^nk-41|M]] said faith is like that cup of coffee that isn't completely full. The empty space is like doubt. If there was no doubt, then it would be a fact and it wouldn't be faith. However, if there is room for doubt, then it isn't a "fact" and therefore we need to have faith that God will do what He said. I don't think I recorded this exactly right, but at least I got some of it here. I'll continue to cogitate on it and rewrite this as needed. {[[Faith]], [[God]]}
- Another thing he talked about was how we should look at grace / salvation / works. He said we should look at it from God's perspective instead of from ours. From God's perspective, He chose some through predestination to give grace. For those who are chosen, Jesus died to pay the price for our sins, past, present and future. It is through that grace that we come to Christ, are saved and do works for His kingdom. Since it is He that gave the grace, we can't lose our salvation. If we are "in" then we are in. If we are "out" then we are out. {[[Grace]], [[Salvation]], [[Work]], [[Predestination]], [[Sin]], [[Jesus]], [[Christ]]}
- [[Name_Key#^nk-42|M]] mentioned the passage in **Matthew 7.21-23**. He and I have discussed that passage on many occasions in the past and this is the first time he connected to grace and predestination. He made the point that those arguing their case before Jesus missed the whole point. It isn't possible to earn our way into heaven by doing works. We can only accept the grace He gave us and fall on our face in worship and give thanks. {[[Matthew_07|Matthew 7.21-23]], [[Heaven]], [[Worship]]}
- Jesus said in **Matthew 7.21** that the only one who will enter heaven is he who does the will of His Father. In **John 6.29**, Jesus said the work of God is to believe in Jesus. {[[John_06|John 6.29]], [[Will]]}
- It isn't about prophesying or driving out demons or performing miracles, it is about accepting the grace that He gave. Period! {[[Prophesy]], [[Demon]], [[Miracle]]}
