# Galatians 5 ## Freedom in Christ 1 [[G3588|It is for]] [[G1657|freedom]] [[G5547|that Christ]] [[G1659|has set us free]].[[G4739|Stand firm]], [[G3767|then]], [[G2532|and]] [[G3361|do not]] [[G1758|be encumbered]] [[G3825|once more]] [[G2218|by a yoke]] [[G1397|of slavery]]. 2 Take notice: I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I testify to every man who gets himself circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. 4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 But by [[G4102|faith]] we eagerly await [[G4151|through the Spirit]] [[G1680|the hope]] of righteousness. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. All that matters is [[G4102|faith]], [[G1754|expressed]] [[G1223|through]] [[G0026|love]]. 7 You were running so well. Who has obstructed you [[G3982|from obeying]] the [[G0225|truth]]? 8 Such persuasion does not come from the One who calls you. 9 A little leaven works through the whole batch of dough. 10 I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is troubling you will bear the judgment, whoever he may be. 11 Now, brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why [[G1377|am I still being persecuted]]? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished. 12 As for those who are agitating you, I wish they would proceed to emasculate themselves! 13 For you, brothers, were called to [[G1657|freedom]]; but do not use your [[G1657|freedom]] as [[G0874|an opportunity]] for the [[G4561|flesh.]] Rather, [[G1398|serve]] [[G0240|one another]] [[G1223|in]] [[G0026|love]]. 14 The entire law is fulfilled in a single decree: “[[G0025|Love]] your [[G4139|neighbor]] as [[G4572|yourself]].” {[[#^48-05-a| a ]]} 15 But if you keep on biting and devouring one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another. ## Walking by the Spirit ([[Ezekiel_36|Ezekiel 36.16–38]]; [[Romans_08|Romans 8.9-11]]) 16 [[G1161|So]] [[G3004|I say]], [[G4043|walk]] [[G4151|by the Spirit]], [[G2532|and]] [[G5055|you will not gratify]] [[G1939|the desires]] [[G4561|of the flesh]]. 17 [[G1063|For]] [[G3588|the]] [[G4561|flesh]] [[G1937|craves]] [[G2596|what is contrary]] [[G3588|to the]] [[G4151|Spirit]], [[G1161|and]] [[G3588|the]] [[G4151|Spirit]] [[G2596|what is contrary]] [[G3588|to the]] [[G4561|flesh]].
