At that time, the survey of the [[OT_Image_of_God]] was not complete - Nevertheless, I don't see anything today that I disagree with ## Notes ### 2013.12.12 - Except for the two instances in Psalms, the other 15 uses of tselem are clearly physical objects.  The two in Psalms translated as "ghosts" and "them" refer to humans which are clearly physical.  I think it is safe to say that all the instances of tselem refer to physical objects.  Therefore, I find it difficult to think that the two occurrences in **Genesis 1** are referring to something else other than physical characteristics.  To further emphasize this point, **Genesis 5.3** uses the same two Hebrew and English words (tselem - image; d@muwth ([[H1823]]) - likeness) to describe Adam's son, Seth.  It seems obvious to me from the context that Moses was using the same language to describe Adam's offspring who probably looked very similar to him as he did to describe Adam who looked similar to God. - The implications of all this are huge in how we see Jesus' body while He walked the earth and how we see our bodies.  This observation is critical to putting the nail in the Gnostic coffin.   - It is also important in how we view marriage.  Paul tells men in [Ephesians 5:28](https://docs.google.com/document/d/17nBDJC3IpHxU-AikxKWyVADaTUeNYi8BR6WwQazBAQs/edit#bookmark=id.bofo691m1xre) that we should love our wives like we love our bodies.  If we hate our bodies like so many do in our culture today, how can we love our wives properly.  Body shaming started in [Genesis 3:7](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DoJbdg8aXfpKQ8EjW9RWg4OhVAjNcJnZ9WUAgdZmXxg/edit#bookmark=id.ghixnfem1rqa) and continues today.  However, it seems that due to the Victorian influences and the media tools, body shaming has reached all new highs. - Jesus is the answer to the body shaming problem just like He is the answer to every other problem.  We were made in His image in the beginning, He came to earth in the form of a man, died in the form of a man and rose to life again in the form of a man.  We need to view our bodies with the same reverence that we view Jesus' body. - 777 - Lord, help me clearly communicate all this.
