# J-960315 -- SRM Insights and Highlights ## Background 2024.01.13 - Back around 1996, me and a few other guys did an in depth Bible study called the Scriptural Roots of Ministry (SRM). The study, which lasted over a year was created by the Navigators and was led by {[[Name_Key#^nk-29| M ]]}. - The study was a great experience which I credit as kick-starting my Bible study discipline today. - That notwithstanding, since then, I have changed my view on a few things. However, the notes below reflect my views in 1996. ## Notes 1996.03.15 - We need to go to the lost - God is knowable - Accept people where they are - His Kingdom is here - God is the initiator -- Join Him in His work - Not all the lost are in the same place - God is at work ahead of us - Purpose not to build the church, but grow the Kingdom -- Loyalty is to the Kingdom - 2024.01.13 - I now believe that it is even more important to focus on the "King" than His kingdom - God selected us before the world - Believers planted among the unbelievers (God may look out and say there is some wheat out there among the tares) - The King is over the Kingdom - Purpose of God’s people -- Bring glory to God - Spiritual warfare conquers sin - Being a witness is like showing others the awesome treasure God has given us - Everything about us is our message - We should fish with nets - each of us forms a knot as a part of the large net - The only thing I have to offer to my non-Christian friends is my availability - What kind of questions can we ask? - Are we making forward progress? - How does that help your life? - How has that affected your spiritual journey? - How big is your God? - What do you believe in God for? - What have you been reading? - Where are you in your pilgrimage? #### Outbound Links - Scripture - Studies - Other Notes - Topics - [[Kingdom]] - Hebrew Words - Greek Words
