# Be Ready - Monday, 2025.12.29 ## What does "worship in spirit and truth" mean? ### Part 3 - Worship with our Minds Although the Bible says we are to don a belt of truth around our waist, it is our minds where understanding lives and where we discern truth. Therefore, in order to worship God in truth, we must engage our minds! {Ephesians 6.14} Here are some passages connecting Holy Spirit, our spirits, our minds, understanding and truth. --- But there is a spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding. {Job 32.8 (BSB)} So He said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” {John 8.31-32 (BSB)} I still have much to tell you, but you cannot yet bear to hear it. However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come. He will glorify Me by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you. Everything that belongs to the Father is Mine. That is why I said that the Spirit will take from what is Mine and disclose it to you. {John 16.12-15} I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I have also sent them into the world. For them I sanctify Myself, so that they too may be sanctified by the truth. {John 17.15-19} Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace. {Romans 8.5-6 (BSB)} Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. {Romans 12.1-2 (BSB)} The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of man except his own spirit within him? So too, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. And this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. {1 Corinthians 2.10b-13} For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ. {1 Corinthians 2.16 (BSB)} But this is not the way you came to know Christ.
