# Be Ready - Saturday, 2025.12.13 ## Passage “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it happen to me according to your word.” Then the angel left her. {Luke 1.38 (BSB)} ## Question Last year I asked this question: "To what have you said "yes" to God and to what 'no?'" ## Answer I'd like to say that I always say YES to God; and I probably do say yes most of the time. However, to be honest, there are way too many times I do in fact "say" yes, then fail to "do" what was asked of me. I feel like I have no strength to "do." A few verses up in response to Mary's question about how she will get pregnant without the usual process, Gabriel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you." I don't know what it looks like for the "power of the Most High" to "overshadow" someone but it sounds amazing and something I'd love to experience (without the preggers part)! I would assume that if the Holy Spirit can get a virgin pregnant, then surely He can empower me to avoid sin. ## Prayer Request Father, please fill me with Your grace and overshadow me with Your power so I can avoid sinning against You!
