# Covenant - James 5 ## Background - One of the many notes comprising the Covenant Bible Study ## Notes 2024.05.21 (12) - James said we should not swear (G3660) by heaven (G3772), earth (G1093) or an oath (G3727) - It is interesting that James used a different word for "oath" than Jesus (G1964). Compare with **Matthew 5.33**. - He went on to say that we should simply say yes (G3483) or no (G3756) so we will not fall under judgment (G2920).
