# Prophets in Movement ## Background - 2024.02.09 - I found this file today on my HD while searching for something else and thought it would be good to add it to my blog - The file I found was in Google Slides format - I couldn't figure out who was the original source - Based on my current theology, I agree with / identify with most of the stuff here, but not all. In particular, I am not a fan of the "movement" thing. I may or may not publish a note in the future detailing my issues with "movement." ## Notes ### Some Characteristics of the Prophet - Has a low tolerance for sin. - Anointed to see and overcome spiritual obstacles. - Sees things in black and white, not grey. - High anointing for truth and accuracy. - Often unappreciated - Their words often bring about a deep healthy conviction in others. - Sees the spiritual gifts in others. - Often gifted with discernment. - More obedience and disciplined oriented than love and grace oriented. - More of a task person than a people person. - Can become belligerent or disengaged from the imperfection of reality, becoming other-worldly. ### Some Things Prophets Do - Excels at hearing from God. - Disciples others to hear from God. - Provides encouragement, comfort, exhortation and strength. - Cuts through people’s self-justification so that confession, repentance and healing happens. - Protects the Body of Christ from cultural contamination. - Holds Disciples accountable to God’s word and will. - Increases spiritual maturity in others through truth by challenging and correcting. - Provides insight into God’s word. - Exposes sin so healing can come into a person’s life through Jesus. - Challenges the status quo and apathy in God’s people. - Often seeking to improve they way we are doing God’s word. - Excels at assessing the team and ensuring the teams direction is in line with God’s will. - Speaks of the future. - Exposes inequity, corruption, lies and false teaching. - Can have a hard time separating the sin from the sinner. ### Prophet’s Role in Launching Movements - Start with pray movement. - Work with the Apostles to lay the foundation. - Listen to God and share with others. (Keeps movement on track.) - Disciples others to hear from God. - Helps others obey Jesus by identifying root sins which prevent or make obedience to Jesus difficult. - Identifying Spiritual Leaders ie Elders, Deacons, APEST. - Identifying enemy tactics and knows how to defeat our enemy. - Do Evangelism with Evangelists. - Do Teaching with Teachers. - Do Shepherding with Shepherds. ### Links [[Prophet]], [[Sin]], [[Anointed]], [[Spiritual]], [[Black]], [[White]], [[Gray]], [[Truth]], [[Spiritual_Gift]], [[To_Discern]], [[Obey]], [[Disciple]], [[Love]], [[Grace]], [[Listen]], [[God]], [[Encourage]], [[Exhort]], [[Strong]], [[Confess]], [[Repent]][[Heal]], [[Body_of_Christ]], [[Culture]], [[Accountability]], [[Word]], [[Will]], [[Jesus]], [[Seek]], [[Team]], [[Future]], [[Lie]], [[False_Prophet]], [[Pray]], [[Apostle]], [[Hear]], [[Leader]], [[Elder]], [[Deacon]], [[APEST]], [[Evangelize]], [[Evangelist]], [[Teach]], [[Teacher]], [[Shepherd]]
