# Study on Repentance
### Notes
- There are three Greek words ([[G3338]], [[G3340]] & [[G3341]]) in the Bible that deal with repentance. I'll give the definition below and some representative verses for each.

#### Change of heart / Change of mind
- Greek Word

- it is a care to one afterwards 1a) it repents one, to repent one's self Synonym

- The boy answered, ‘I will not.’ But later he had a _**change of heart**_ and went.

#### Repent
- Greek Word
- [[G3340]] - μετανοεο - met-an-o-eh'-o - Count:34
- to change one's mind, i.e. to repent 2) to change one's mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one's past sins

#### Repentance

- a change of mind, as it appears to one who repents, of a purpose he has formed or of something he has done

- I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to _**repentance**_.”

- **24** And the Lord’s slave must not engage in heated disputes but be kind toward all, an apt teacher, patient, **25** correcting opponents with gentleness. Perhaps God will grant them _**repentance**_ and then knowledge of the truth **26** and they will come to their senses and escape the devil’s trap where they are held captive to do his will.
